James Douglas "Butch" Conner Sr.

Butch recently retired from the Cameron Parish Sheriff Office after 20 years of service. He enjoyed gardening and genealogy. His favorite time was spent with his family and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 44 years, JoAnn Conner; three sons, James D. Conner Jr. of Moss Bluff, Carl Conner and wife, Kayla of Sweetlake, and Chance Conner and fiancé', Haley Nunez of Lake Charles; his mother, Ethel Conner Moore of Lake Charles; one brother, Carrol "Penu" Conner of Iowa; two sisters, Linda Saltzman and husband, Ollan of Kinder and Elizabeth "Peanut" Riggs and husband, Danny of Deer Park, TX; four grandchildren, Katie, Sarah, Jude, and Eli Conner.

He is preceded in death by his father, Alvin Conner; step-father, Gilbert Moore; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arceneaux Conner and Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Theriot; and one brother, Carl A. Conner.

A celebration of his life will be at 11am Friday, December 27, in St. Eugene Catholic Church of Grand Chenier. Father Uche will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-9pm Thursday, December 26, a rosary will be at 6pm and visitation will resume at 8 am till time of service on Friday, at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
