James (Jim) Samuel Ward

Mr. Ward served in the Army from 1961 until 1967 as Crew Chief, technical inspector and radio repair technician. He was a commercial airline and fixed wing helicopter pilot. He retired from Air Logistics as a maintenance supervisor where he worked from 1974 until 2000.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Ann Miller of Hayes, LA; sons, Michael and Marie Ward of Huntsville, AL, David Ward of Jena, LA; daughter, Theresa Ward of Plano, TX, Ivy Clarus of Knocksville, TN; brothers, Jimmy Ward and wife, Pat of Ranburne, AL, Merlin Ward and wife, Nanette Ranburne, AL; sisters, Louise and David Harrington of Woodland, AL, Glenda Brown and husband, David of Ranburne, AL; grandchildren, Haley Ward and Kaleb Goudet. He was preceded in death by his parents, L.B. Ward and Ezell Estes; brothers, Rodney Ward.

His funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 5, 2010 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Rev. ___ will officiate. Burial will be in Hayes Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Sunday and Monday 8 a.m. until time of service. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
