Jim was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. He graduated from Marion High School in Lake Charles in 1956 where he was a track and football star athlete and then graduated from McNeese State University. Jim also received a degree from LSU School of Banking and then was employed in the banking industry for 38 years. He owned and operated Mortgage Bankers of America Financial Institute and was a notary for many years. Jim was a loyal football fan for the New Orleans Saints, LSU, and McNeese.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 49 years, Rivola "Tibby" Lynch of Lake Charles; son, James Tipton Lynch of Lake Charles; step sons, Trenton Wayne Curphy and wife Gena of Kingwood, TX. and Kallen Wayne Curphy and wife Cindy Webb of Lake Charles; daughters, Sabrina Gail Saucier and husband Lester of Sulphur and Pamela Lynn Senneff and husband Steve Nassau Bay, TX.; step Brother, Burrell Jones of Hattisburg, MS.; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Shawn Wayne Curphy; and grandson, Hunter Wayne Curphy.
Visitation will be held at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Friday, May 21, 2021 beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will resume on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. until the services. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at a later date at Highland Memory Gardens.
