She was born Janel Wanda Howard(but addressed as Wanda) on October 20, 1931 in Jennings, LA to the late Robert and Grace Howard of Lake Arthur, LA. She was a native of Lake Arthur and later moved to Lake Charles. She Married her husband Jesse (Tom) Thomas Ellender in 1959.
Wanda loved to oil paint and in her formative years had gotten a pilot's license. She was encouraged by her husband Jesse, otherwise known as Tom, to get the license. She attended St. Margaret's church for many years.
Wanda is welcomed into Heaven by her husband; Jesse (Tom) Thomas Ellender and sister Lynne Bussy.
Those left to cherish her memory are sons; Jerry Ellender and wife Pam of Carlisle, OH and Mark Ellender and wife Barbara of Houston, TX. Sister; Norma Cain from Lake Arthur, LA, five grandchildren; Abby, Molly, Blake, Christopher and Michael, and one great-grandchild on the way!
Services for Janel Wanda Howard Ellender will be held Friday July 22nd, 2022, in the Chapel of the Lilies at 3001 Ryan St in Lake Charles, LA, 70601.
Visitation will begin at 12:00pm with funeral service to follow at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Prien Cemetery at 2220 Country Club Rd, Lake Charles, LA, 70605
Deacon Ray Menard to officiate Funeral services and Cemetery Committal service.
