Lake Charles-J.C. Waller, 94, was entrusted to God’s loving care on Saturday, May 30, 2015, at his residence. He was born in Monroe, LA. but was living in Lake Charles for the past 69 years. J.C. attended S.L.I., which is now U.L.L. on a track scholarship and then went into the Army during World War II for 4 years. He was employed at Borden’s Ice Cream for 44 years where he was a manager in the ice cream department. He was a Mason, Scottish Rite, and in the Shriners for over 40 years. His hobbies included fishing and gardening. He was also a proud supporter of McNeese Athletics.
Survivors include a son, Mark Waller and wife Rhonda of Lake Charles; and grandchildren; David Mark Waller and Morgan Maria Waller. He was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Waller, parents; James and Clemmie Waller, brothers; Thomas Waller and Marshall Waller and sisters; Lois Freeman and Lucille Chrysler.
Services will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in Lake Charles at 10am. Visitation for J.C. will be held at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Monday, June 1, 2015 from 4-8 and will resume Tuesday at the church at 9am. Rev. Weldon Bares will officiate. Burial will be at Prien Memorial Cemetery.
