Jesse completed the 9th grade at LaGrange High School, where his steady spirit and sincere character were evident to those who knew him. In ROTC, he carried himself with quiet discipline and a strong sense of duty—approaching each commitment with diligence, integrity, and a faithful heart. Jesse possessed the heart of a true warrior and a protector. He loved his mother and sisters fiercely, always standing as their shield and their constant source of strength.
That same protective spirit drove him toward the ultimate challenge: stepping up to serve in the Navy with the elite dream of becoming a Navy SEAL. He had the courage, the grit, and the heart for it. Today, we honor his dedication, his brave spirit, and his commitment to service. Farewell, Sailor. You have answered your final call, and you now stand watch over all of us from above.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Rebecca McClelland Duhon; sisters, Angel Faith Leeann Duhon and Danyelle Emily Paige Duhon; maternal grandparents, Michael Lee McClelland Sr. and Peggy McClelland; his uncles, Michael McClelland Jr. (Pamela), Tommy McClelland (Fleachia) and Kevin McClelland (Donna); adopted dad, Lucas Soileau; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, his ROTC family, and many friends.
