Jewel Geneva Marcantel

Mrs. Marcantel was born in Zowalle, LA and lived in Iowa. She was a charter member of Bethany Baptist Church. She served as a secretary for the church and had worked in Bible School for many years. She was a member of WMU at the church and a graduate of Bird High School in Shreveport. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

She is survived by her sons, Bobby Ray Marcantel of Iowa and Mike Edward Marcantel of Iowa; daughters, Emma Elizabeth Clements of Lake Charles, Mary Frances Pearce of Iowa; 12 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Marcantel and a grandson, Scott Pearce.

Her funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Bethany Baptist Church in LeBleu Settlement. Rev. Daniel Stanley will officiate. Burial will be in LeBleu Cemetery in Fenton, LA. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday and at the church from 9-10 a.m. on Thursday. Family requests memorial donations be made to Alzhiemers Association.
