Jimmie was a former resident of Cameron, Louisiana and a life long vessel master. He stepped onto the deck of a boat at the age of seventeen and never truly stepped off. He lived his life on the water and enjoyed every minute of it.
Jimmie and his late wife, Mary Ethel Thibodeaux Stoute, formed, owned and operated Offshore Boat Operators Incorporated where Jimmie operated the M/V Surf King. While in his spare time, he enjoyed oystering, shrimping, crabbing and gill netting on Calcasieu Lake with his three children.
Jimmie was the 48th Annual Louisiana Fur and Wildlife Festival King in 2004. Not only will he be remembered as the Oyster King, he will forever be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and how he could light up a room with his smiling face and funny jokes. Even in the roughest of times he would always find the positive and spread joy in every situation.
Jimmie is preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Ethel Thibodeaux Stoute. Jimmie is survived by his children Priscilla Ann Collins and husband Milton A Collins of Grand Lake, La, Roxanne Corbello of Sulphur, La, James Keith Stoute and wife Samantha Rae Stoute of Magnolia, Ms. His grandchildren Jimmie Patrick Clark, Aimie Anne Clark, Michael Benjamin Clark, James Kaleb-Ray Stoute, Emma Anne Corbello, foster grandchildren Gabrielle Marie Young and Ava Grace Young and one new grandbaby on the way who he already loved "heavy heavy" as he said.
The thrill of a calm lake and a pair of oyster tongs in his hands never left him, he even spoke about it in his last days. He will forever be loved and missed by so many.
We gladly take the helm from here, rest easy Captain Jack! ⚓️
