

He was born April 1, 1937 in Richard, LA to Armand and Vena Courville. He married Dolores Billeaudeau in 1959. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Clifford Courville and one sister, Audrey Spencer.
Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife of 56 years Dolores, two sons, Dwayne Courville and his wife Meris of Lake Charles and Craig Courville and his husband, Randy Patterson of Wesley Chapel, Florida; his beloved grandson Ryan James Courville, his pride and joy, and his nephew Reggie Courville.
John served in the U.S. Army and was a member of St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church in Lake Charles and was a member of the Cursillos. He retired as a millwright from W.R. Grace. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to his camp at Toledo Bend and spending time with his grandson. John and his wife loved to travel throughout the United States, Europe and Nova Scotia.
Visitation will be Monday, November 30, 2015 from 4 to 8 pm with a rosary at 6:00 pm at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Visitation will resume Tuesday at 8 am until leaving for service. A Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church; Father Jay Alexius will officiate. Pallbearers are Chris Blackburn, Chad Schexnider, Cliff Courville, Troy Higginbothom, Randy Patterson, Carl Churchman Jr. Honorary Pallbearers are Ryan Courville, grandson; and Matthew Everage. Entombment will follow the service at Consolata Catholic Cemetery in Lake Charles.
