John Cecil Reon

He joined the Army in 1949 and was deployed to Korea as an Artillery Specialist and was discharged in 1951 with the rank of Sergeant.

After serving his country, he met and married Bettye Welch Reon and together, they had three children.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bettye; son, Randy; grandson, James; granddaughter, Euphoric; great granddaughter, Emma Grace: brothers, Paul and Harry; and sister, Alice.

John is survived by his son, Greg; daughter, Karen (Patrick); daughter-in-law, Rhonda; grandchildren, Vanessa and Jon Alan Reon, Cody Reon (Opal), Ryan Reon (Ashley), Rali Bertrand (Mark), Randy Reon (Courtney), Trista Reon-Lee (Brian), Lauren Alopogianis (Chris Reeves), and Brittany Crawford; great grandchildren, Raegan Reon, Mason Reon, Emery and Drew Reon, Zion and Cadence Durham, Kingston Bertrand, Remy and Harper, Lenny, Squiggy, Rosie Lee, Kalen Alopogianis, Cypress Reeves, and Marlee Dickerson; great great grandson, Major Reon; sister, Annie Demary; along with many nieces, nephews that loved and respected him and shared many stories with one another.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles from 10:00AM until time of service at 2:00 PM. He will be laid to rest at Sallier Cemetery.
