Joseph Newman

Joseph Newman was born on August 3, 1960 to Sarah and Willard Easton in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He grew up nurtured in a Baptist environment. Joseph was baptized at Good Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Henry Brooks in Westlake and sang in the choir for many years. He graduated from Westlake High School. Joseph also worked at Gulf States for a number of years and worked out of the Local 207.

Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Willard Easton.

He leaves many wonderful memories to his mother, Sarah Easton; 5 sisters, Melissa Easton, Kodenia Tillman, Annette Porchia, Shirley Tillman, and Patricia Hunter; four brothers, Orland Easton, Jason Easton, Slyvester Tillman, Jr., and Dan Tillman; special cousin, Arthur Lee Malbrough; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. until Noon on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at J.E. Hixson Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Joseph's ashes will be laid to rest at a later date.
