Joseph Tuney Reed

He was born on June 19, 1928 in Mamou, LA. He was a member of the U.S. Air Force. Tuney was a local store owner and Calcasieu Parish School Bus Driver for many years in the Lake Charles area.

Tuney leaves to cherish his memory one son, Keith Reed of Moss Bluff; three daughters, Sheila Batusic and husband, Frank Batusic of McCaully, AL, Mona Reed of Lake Charles, Tessie Summers and husband, Jerry Summers of Lake Charles; one sister, Georgia Hayes of Lake Charles; eight grandchildren, Staci Heath, Bryan Reed, Kyle Castille, Ray Gilley, Brooke Gilley, Amber Moss, Nina Mouton and Matthew Batusic, as well as 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

His funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, September 20, 2010 at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, 3-7 p.m., Sunday 3-7 p.m. and 8 a.m. til service on Monday. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
