Judge proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for four years and served four months in Tripoli, Lybia. He retired from Gulf States/Entergy after over 20 years. Judge was a faithful servant of First Pentecostal Church of Westlake for 32 years.
Psalm 84 is famous for the scripture “A day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness”. For 28 years Judge Roy Williamson served as the doorkeeper for the house of his God. For 28 years, Judge Williamson was the first to arrive and the last to leave. He’d unlock, turn on the lights, set the air, and hold the door. Judge understood that the call of God is NEVER insignificant, and the role in which you partake for God’s kingdom will always have an impact on peoples lives. He held the door for funerals of people he didn’t know, he held the door for families searching for hope, he held the door for the lost looking for salvation, but most importantly he held the door for his family. Above all else, Judge Williamson desired to see his family and friends in the house of the lord. Peter is recognized for guarding the pearly gates, many believe when you arrive at the door step of heaven you’ll first be greeted by St Pete. This is to serve notice, Peter lost his job on March 8th, 2022. For those of us that will lose loved ones, friends and family in the coming years, be of good cheer, Judge Williamson will be holding the door.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Yvonne Williamson of Lake Charles; three children, James Williamson (Rachel), Darren Williamson (Debbie) and Stacey Hampton (Scott); sister, Sandra Price; brothers, Ernie Williamson and Dennis Williamson (Becky); eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and best friend, Tom Price.
