She is survived by her dedicated friend and caregiver, Lynette Marcantel; and two brothers, David Bradley (Barbara) and Jimmy Harris (Tammy).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hunter and Virginia Bradley; birth mother, Dora Faye Harris; brothers, Duane Harris, Leland Harris, Gary Gene Harris, and Randy Joe Harris.
Judy was a graduate of LaGrange High School. After graduating high school, she furthered her education at McNeese State University where she received a Master’s Degree +30 in Education and Counseling. She taught and counseled students in Calcasieu Parish for over 30 years.
She also worked in the private sector for 10 years counseling adolescents in several parishes.
In the late 1970s, Judy began discernment and formation to live a vowed apostolic religious life as a Catholic nun. She joined the Marianite Sisters of Holy Cross in New Orleans, LA where she was received as a Novice and became a formal member of the Marianite Community for several years. Although she decided not to pursue vows, she remained a devout Christian all of her life.
Judy was an avid reader and loved to travel and loved antiques. She also had several antique booths for 8 years.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles 3001 Ryan St. on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 from 10:00 AM until time of services at 1:00 PM. A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens.
