Kena Marie Senegal a radiant and compassionate soul, transitioned to her glorious heavenly body on Friday, March 15, 2024, at the age of 35. Born in Lake Charles, LA. to the late Michael A. Senegal and Tanya Fobbs Senegal, Kena was a shining light who illuminated every life she touched.
Kena was a 2007 honor graduate of LaGrange High School and a 2012 Cum laude graduate with B.S.C. in Chemistry from Northwestern State University, Kena's academic excellence led her to prestigious research opportunities and conferences.
In her occupational career, Kena served as a Consumer Safety Officer with the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) and later became a Consumer Safety Manager with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). In addition to her primary career role, Kena also pursed a passion for Entrepreneurship and community development through various consulting projects where she helped numerous small businesses achieve compliance.
Kena's greatest accomplishment was her ministry and work for the Lord. She was saved at an early age, filled with the Holy Spirit, and baptized in Jesus' Name. She enjoyed working with the children's ministry at Revive Church, Lafayette, LA, and was dedicated to the Chosen Generation Youth Group. She was also the lead singer of True Worshipers Youth Choir ministry at Throne of Grace Fellowship Church.
Alongside her twin sister, Kena initiated a youth home Bible study, guiding young minds towards accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, living a virtuous life, and understanding the demonic influences in Hip Hop music.
Kena leaves to cherish her memories, her mother Tanya Fobbs Senegal; twin sister, Sarena (Dafiri) Senegal Irimagha; oldest sister, Quinnetta (Oscar) Senegal Ramos; godparents, Tommy and Anita Senegal; and a host of uncles, aunt, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Michael A. Senegal; maternal grandparents, Clayton (Betty) Fobbs; paternal grandparents, Roy (Lula Mae) Senegal; and one nephew, Michael Blessing Irimagha.
The family will welcome relatives and friends at Eastwood Pentecostal Church on Saturday, March 30, 2024 beginning at 10:00 a.m. with a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Lake Charles.
