She was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, La, where she graduated from Lake Charles High School. Mabel later graduated from Sowela Community College as an LPN Nurse. She was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church, and also attended St. Henry Catholic Church depending on the day. She also attended Our Lady Queen of Heaven for daily mass. Mabel was a member of the Senior Circle and the Lake Charles High School Alumni Group. She stayed very active and enjoyed playing cards, dominos, gardening, and cooking for family and friends. Mabel was a member of the Lake Charles Orchid Society and the Hixson L.I.F.T. program.
She is Preceded in death by her parents; her son; John Desormeaux, and Husbands; Edias Desormeaux, Paul Murray, and Don St. Romain.
Those left to cherish her memories are her Son; Jeffery Desormeaux and wife Nancy of Lake Charles, two Daughters; Deborah Battaglia and Husband Joseph of Lake Charles, and Catherine Murray of Lake Charles, daughter-in-law Aida Desormeaux, eleven Grandchildren, twenty-one great grand children, and two great great grandchildren.
The family will welcome the public for visitation Tuesday August 31, 2021 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm with a rosary beginning at 6:00pm. Visitation will resume Wednesday September 1, 2021 at 8:00 with a Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Father Nathan Long beginning at 11:00am at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
