Margie and Tom moved to Lake Charles in 1952 and opened Aday Tire Co. She was active in many church and civic organizations. Most people remember her for her many hobbies which included porcelain china painting, stamp collecting, and making jelly. She was appreciated by her family and friends for her creative talents expressed in her gift making. Margie was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be greatly missed.
Those left behind to cherish her memories are son, Thomas Aday, Jr. and wife, Charlotte of Roanoke, VA; son, Brian Aday and wife, Gay of Lake Charles; grandchildren, John Thomas Aday and wife, Julia of Lake Charles, Scott Thomas Aday and wife, Catherine of Millis, MA, and Mary Elizabeth Aday Crain and husband, Mason of Geismar, LA; and nine great-grandchildren, Alexander, Xavier, Addison, Noah, Ephraim, Elizabeth, Daniel, Michael, and Matthew.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Thomas Aday, Sr., father, Charles Frederick Jones, mother, Elizabeth Jones, and a sister, Allah Doris Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2018 in the Hixson Funeral Chapel of Lake Charles. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday. Burial will be held privately in McLeod Magnolia Cemetery in Leakesville, MS.
Margie's family would like to say a special thanks to the staff of the Carriage House, Dr. Ron Lewis and office staff, Heart of Hospice, and most importantly her caregiver of sixteen years, Dixie Blum.
