
Marilyn Ann Thibodeaux left this earth Monday, May 2 at 10:04 P.M. after a courageous fight for life during a six month hospital stay. She is finally freed from the suffering she endured for so long. She faced death with a strength and determination that was a gift of the Grace of God.
Marilyn was born on September 24, 1949 in Houston, TX and moved to Lake Charles at an early age. She graduated from LaGrange High School. Marilyn was a disciple of Jesus Christ and knew Him from an early age. Marilyn loved her God, her ministry to her elders, her family and pets. Before her lengthy illness she delighted in maintaining her home and yard. Marilyn was a talented writer and photographer. She delighted in the beauty of nature. She loved others.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Jess Harper Sr. and Elizabeth Harper.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of forty two years, Ron Thibodeaux, her beloved son, Justin R. Thibodeaux, her brothers, Jess Harper Jr. and Tim Harper and several nieces and nephews. During her illness she acquired an extended family in the entire staff of Lake Area Medical Center who showed her limitless love, love and care. Her family will always hold gratitude in their hearts to these wonderful people.
Marilyn was blessed by prayer from hundreds of friends in her long walk of Faith in the Mercy and Grace of God. The prayers and spiritual guidance of Danny Miller, Jeannie Miller and Scott Sollay gave her great comfort. Her physicians, Keith Chung, Ken Nguyen, David Landry and Luke Williams fought heroically in their valiant efforts to save her.
The celebration of Marilyn's life will be 10:00am, Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Hixson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 8:30am until time of service. Reverend Danny Miller will conduct the service. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
