Marion June Hale

May 16, 1932 – January 5, 2025
Obituary of Marion June Hale
IN THE CARE OF

J. E. Hixson & Sons

Marilyn June Hale, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, peacefully passed from this Earth on January 5, 2025.

Born Marion June Goeken on May 16, 1932, in Oklahoma, Marilyn was the cherished daughter of the late Herman “Bert” Goeken and Ivol Pate Goeken Warren, and stepdaughter of Oscar Warren. She grew up surrounded by a large, loving extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, forming bonds and memories she appreciated throughout her life.

In 1977, Marilyn married her best friend and lifelong companion, James Hale. Together, they embarked on countless adventures across the country, creating treasured memories. Marilyn spent many years working in the grocery industry and later co-owned two successful businesses with James in Sulphur and DeQuincy, Louisiana.

Marilyn’s life was one of love, devotion, and resilience. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, her beloved son Walter Leon “Bubba” Veazey, her brother Jeffery Lynn “Butch” Warren, and her dear husband, James Hale.

She is survived by her brother Michael Warren (Marsha) of Longview, Texas; her loving daughters, Regina Jackson (Terry) and Juanita Abbott (Charlie) of Moss Bluff, and Donna Becnel (Steve) of Lake Charles, Louisiana and stepson David Hale (Yvonne) of Austin, Texas.

Marilyn was a beloved “MeMe” for 55 years to seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.

Marilyn’s memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends. Cremation has been entrusted to J. E. Hixson & Sons Funeral Home. Graveside services were held at Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss, Louisiana.

We invite those who knew Marilyn to share their memories, leave messages of condolence, or sign her digital register book by visiting www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
