Marlene Joyce Brown Liggio, 86, of Moss Bluff, passed into the arms of her Savior on Sunday, January 23, 2022 in Lake Charles. Marlene was born to her late parents, Wilbur and Hazel Brown on May 7, 1935 in Ponca City, OK.
She graduated from Westlake High School, where she was a cheerleader and participated in several clubs. Marlene went on to Northwestern College and was on the swim team. She also enjoyed camping, sewing, baking, and was known for her famous mints. She shared such a beautiful love story with her sweetheart Buster, whom she loved dearly. She was a Charter member of Gateway Church of God in Moss Bluff. She was co-owner and secretary for Liggio Realty for many years. She was a gentle soul and loved by many, and most of all, loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Most of all, she loved her family and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her children, Rhonda Cupit (Danny) of Westlake, Donna Liggio-Nall (Teddy) of Lake Charles, Lynda Liggio (fiance' Danny Terry) of Many, LA, Vince Liggio, Jr. (Melissa) of Moss Bluff, and Shane Liggio (Kelly) of Moss Bluff; brother-in-law, Jack Liggio (Sandra) of Moss Bluff; nieces, Angela Bel and Andrea Powers of Moss Bluff; grandchildren, Travis Cupit (Lisa), Ryan Lambert (Mandy), Cortni Granger (Cody), Dari Guillory (Chase), Chase Walker, Alec Liggio (Abby), Ross Gilley, Aden Liggio, Erin Gilley (Slade); great grandchildren, Drew and Ivy Kate Cupit, Reid and Case Granger, Rhett and Briggs Guillory, Elijah and Khloe Lambert, Waylon Nall, and Korbin Liggio Peck; her cousins, Carolyn Carp and Gwen Dees Pogue. Also, a special thanks to all her caretakers who affectionally called her Mama, Sage Oak's staff and Amedisys Hospice, for the love and care they gave our mother. She leaves behind many special friends.
Marlene is preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Vincent "Buster" N. Liggio, Sr.
Services will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles on Ryan Street Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 2:00pm, with Rev. Richard Rials, Rev. Ken Sifford, and Rev. Charlie Willis officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, beginning at 11:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Westlake Memorial Park Cemetery.
