Mary A Cahill

She was born in Choudrant, Louisiana on July 15th, 1935. She graduated from Choudrant High School and attended Louisiana Tech University. She married Harley R. Cahill on May 25th, 1957 and began her journey as a military spouse, traveling the world and settling in Moss Bluff, Louisiana. Together, they had four children.

She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, sister and aunt to her family and a dear friend to many. She loved her family, friends and church. She enjoyed sewing and quilting and serving at her church as a hostess.

She is survived by her four children, Bruce Cahill, Diane Sumrall, Joey Cahill and Susan Duhon, ten grandchildren and one great grandchild, one brother, Sonny Ambrose, two sisters, Raye Hammons and Alice Bruce, numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Ambrose and sister, Opal Green.

The family would like to thank the following: Dr. Ben Thompson, Dr. Abu Shamat and Justin Bohannan, RN, along with the entire ICU staff at Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be Friday June 23, 2017 from 4-8 PM and will resume Saturday 9AM until 12PM at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Funeral service will be Saturday at 1PM at the funeral home.
