Mary Clair Shortridge

She most enjoyed her role in life as a mother, grandmother, great and great great grandmother.

Her favorite work experience was the time she spent running OB’s Deli in Lake Charles where many customers became friends.

Momma Clair was our rock and the glue of our family. She will be missed by so many friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her parents Clovis and Viola Savoy, Siblings Donald Savoy, Sedonia Adams and Jerome Savoy. Most notable was the passing of her children Billy Wayne, Steve and Michael Shortridge.

Clair is survived by her other children - Katherine Matte/ Michael, Christine deLaunay/James, Kenneth Shortridge/ Erin and daughters in law Bennie Shortridge and Cassie Shortridge. Siblings AnnaLois/ Jim Fontenot, Clovis/ Donna Savoy Jr., Joseph Roy/Germaine Savoy and James (Jimmy) Savoy/Jaye. Sisters in law Judy Savoy, Bill Adams and Angela Savoy. She also enjoyed and loved the company of numerous grand, great and great great grandchildren.

The family will welcome the public for visitation at J. E. Hixson & Sons Funeral Home, Saturday, March 14, 2026 from 12pm until time of Celebration of Life service led by Hixson celebrant Jody Tyler at 12:30pm.
