Mergene Brasseaux Champagne

She was born December 21, 1927 in Church Point, LA to Moise and Lela Olivier Brasseaux. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dudley Champagne.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her two sons, Glen Champagne and his wife Ilayalit of Baytown, TX and Doug Champagne of Lake Charles, LA. Also surviving are two sisters, Audrey Andrepont Fontenot of DeQuincy, LA; Barbara Ann Thibodeaux of Patterson, LA, grandchildren, Colleen, Gabriel, Chasse, Jonathan, Katherine, and Glen, great-grandchildren, Camden, Landon, Avery, Bentley, and Callie, and many extended family and friends.

Mergene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who took pride in caring for her family. She was a woman of great love and appreciation for life who loved to spend time in the little flower garden behind her home. She was a former member of St. Margaret’s Catholic Church.

A visitation to be held Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 pm, resuming Thursday at 9:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am at Hixson Funeral Home, Lake Charles.
