Michael Mike Lynn Smith

Michael Lynn Smith, age 53, passed away on the afternoon of Friday, April 8th, 2011, in Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family and friends. Michael was born on August 31, 1957, in Lake Charles, LA, and was the son of the late Dimitri & Lorena Onxley Papadimitriou. Michael was a graduate of Lake Charles High Class of 1976 and an employee of PPG Industries for 34 years where his coworkers were considered an extension of his family. He is survived by his son, Blake Colin Smith; sisters, Doris Ruth Smith,and son Richard Smith; Angel Mefford and husband Thomas;Katherine LaRocca and husband Ronnie; brother, Max O. Smith, Jr. and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceeded in death by a brother Russell J. Smith. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, April 11, 2011, from 10:00AM until 4:00PM at J.E. Hixson & Sons Funeral Home in Lake Charles, LA, with the funeral service following at 4:00PM officiated by Father Keith Pellerin. Michael spread his love with everyone he crossed paths with, and his family would love for anyone to come and share their stories with them.
