Michael was a native of Orange, TX. and a resident of Lake Charles for most of his life. After graduating High School, Michael went on to the United States Navy where he served his country for 10 years. Upon being honorably discharged from the Navy, he attended LSU where he earned several degrees in fire fighting. Once the completion of his schooling, he began his employment for the Lake Charles City Fire Department as a Fire Fighter and then became an Investigator until his retirement after 29 years with the city.
Those left to cherish his memory are, his mother, Lettie Cooper and husband Larry of Lebleu Settlement; father, David Samuel Walden of Kirbyville, TX.; brothers, Greg Walden and wife Sandy of Lebleu Settlement, and Rodney Cooper of Moss Bluff, LA; and sister, Shelly Cooper Burns and husband John of Vancouver, WA.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Marsha L. Walden.
Visitation services will be held at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Sunday, May 30, 2021 beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. A Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home on Sunday. Pastor Gary Evers will be officiating at the services.
