Mrs. Roy O. (Rosie Belle Cormier) Blanchette, 79, of Lake Charles, LA passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2020. Belle was born in Lafayette, LA on January 31, 1941 to Forrest Cormier and Agnes Craduer Cormier.
Belle was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, LA where she graduated from St. Charles Academy Class of 1959. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and a member of Catholic Daughters. Belle was also a member of the Southern Bells, a member of Communication Workers of America Union and a member of the Pioneers of AT&T. She retired as a Directory Assistance Operator in 2003 with AT&T after over 30 years of service.
Belle is preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Agnes Cormier; one Daughter, Melanie Monique Blanchette; two Sons, Christopher Gerard Blanchette and Jerome Christopher Blanchette; two Sisters, Hazel Hudspeth and Florence Jessup.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 59 years, Mr. Roy O. Blanchette Jr. of Lake Charles, LA; two Sons, Trey Blanchette of Lake Charles, LA and Dominique Andre' Blanchette (Tracie) of Lake Charles, LA; one Daughter, Mrs. Monique Charrisse Odom (Robb) of Zachary, LA; one sister, Yvonne Primeaux of Lake Charles, LA; four grand-daughters, Britney Marie Blanchette, Taylor Brooke Odom, Baylie Monet Odom and Madison Monique Blanchette.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles from 4pm until 8pm with Rosary at 6pm. Visitation will resume on Friday from 8am until the time of service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, October 2, 2020 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church at 2pm. Monsignor Danny Torres will officiate. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery.
