On Friday, October 23, 2020, Muriel Jean (Johnson) Bryant, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away at the age of 71 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 18, 1949 in Greenwood, Arkansas to Doris (Poynter) and Virgil Johnson. She married the love of her life David Bryant on June 17, 1978 and they raised five children. They were married for 42 loving years.
Jean had a servant heart and spent much of her life helping others. She volunteered at her church; working in the food pantry for several year. She helped young mothers get on their feet by providing car seats, clothes and other supplies. She had a deep compassion for the homeless population and dedicated much of her time serving the needs of homeless. Also, her love and involvement for the Christmas Angel program is well known by those who knew her. She was always grateful for the blessed life she had and always wanted to share those blessings with those less fortunate…and often did so anonymously. She was also very involved with the Krewe Du Bon Coeur. Jean lived by the “Golden Rule” and taught it to her children and grandchildren in hopes they would treat others well and live their lives with a loving, caring heart. She loved her friends and family deeply, but her greatest joys in her life were her seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She often said, “If I knew how much fun grandchildren were going to be, I would have done that first.”
She is survived by her husband, David, her five children; Randy Niles and his wife Kelly, Sheila (Niles) Fulmer and her fiancé, Dennis Gordon, Todd Bryant, Ryan Bryant and Amanda (Bryant) McDonald and her husband Brandon, her grandchildren, MaryJo, Grace, Tanner, Kylie, Alexis and Tryston, her great-granddaughter, Chaplynn, her sisters; Patty, Teresa and Lisa and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris; father Virgil; stepfather, Bill; brothers Keith and Neal and her grandson, Brandon.
