Patricia Louviere

Patricia Shea Louviere, 85, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 in a local hospital. Pat was born in Houston, TX on December 20, 1935 to Charles Hennessey Shea and Mabel Parr Shea and grew up in Baldwin, LA.

In 1953 she married the love of her life, Elton J. Louviere. She and Elton operated Louviere Sign Company and Outdoor Advertising until 1976. Together they followed a lifelong passion of creating beautiful art that graces many homes in Southwest Louisiana and around the globe. She was the managing partner behind the success of Louviere Fine Arts. Pat was a past president of the Ad and Press Club of Southwest Louisiana and involved in Gridiron, past president of the Moss Bluff Civic Club, and a past member of Mardi Gras Krewe de la Famille. Pat was creative and artistic and had a flair for decorating, landscaping and design.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Scott (Kathy) Louviere of Moss Bluff, LA, Rennie (Angela) Louviere of Lafayette, LA, Dody (Phil) Schneider of Lafayette, LA, Kelly (Lou) Barry of Hockley, TX, and Mandy (John) Holmes of Conway, AR, one brother Mickey Shea (Lynn) of Jeanerette, LA. Nine grandchildren Sara Larocca, Amanda Barry, Louis Barry (fiancé Savannah), Aaron Louviere, Grace Louviere Butts (Caleb), Logan Holmes, Spencer Holmes, Christopher Holmes, and Ashley Louviere. Four great grandchildren, Wynter, Rowen, Hudson, and Olive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 60 years, Elton Louviere, her brothers Tommy Shea and Marion Shea and one son Neil Louviere.

Her funeral will be held Saturday at Hixson’s Funeral Home in Lake Charles, LA. Monsignor Jace Eskind will officiate. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Prien Memorial Park.

Dear Aunt Patsy, I loved you and Uncle Elton and my cousins so very much,even though our families drifted apart.I always think of you and the time I spent a week in Lake Charles with you all.That was one of my most loving memories, I never forgot.I was about 10 yrs old.The love that radiated from you all. It was amazing.To all my cousins I share my deepest sympathy, because not only did your Mother pass away but your best friend.My love to all of you.

I just want to share my condolences to Aunt Pat , Family, My Name is Cassandra Louviere which She Is My Auntie by Race Gerard Louviere, which was My Husband For 18 Years. I just want to let you all know I remember all the good times that I had with Aunt Pat at the Easter Parties in Franklin Louisiana and I want you to know that She Surely will be Missed Aunt Pat and I Really Really Loved Her Because She Was One Of A Kind Real Woman, And A Wonderful Beautiful, Beautiful Person,Mother, and Straight Direct and Forward and I Love Her For being the Beautiful Woman ,Aunt that she was. RIP. Aunt Pat I Will Always Love You Cassandra Louviere.

Patsy as a young married 20/21 year old was baby sitting my brother Steve and I as 10 & 8 year olds. She taught us both to Jitterbug, still know how at 75 :)). My wife Judy & I live in Moss Point for a number of years and we able to reconnect with Elton & Patsy. They will both be missed until we next meet 🙏🙏 RIP

I was sad to hear of Pat's passing. She was a beautiful, unusual woman in so many ways and I'm sure you will all miss her much. I ask God to be with you all at this time.

However, it means that Pat and Elton, Doc and Squat and Cooney and Sylvia are all gathered together now so the next chapter can begin with good times for all! Many, many great memories in our families.

Recently I heard a quote from Dr. Seuss..."Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened." Definitely applies here.
