

He was born and raised in Lake Charles and was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church. He loved his wife and family and never met a stranger. He also loved to fish, hunt and square dance. He also loved to watch boxing and golf. He retired from the Army National Guard, Insulator local 112 and Citgo Refinery where he was an active member of the Employees Club.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary “Jane” Stephens Creel of Lake Charles; sons, Scott Creel and (Daphne) of Grand Lake and Stephen Paul Creel (Gwen Thompson) of Lake Charles; daughter, Suzanne Creel Berniard (Stephen) of Lake Charles; sister, Mary Creel Dartez; sister-in-law, Kaye Creel, Donna Rice (Larry) and Barbara Stephens; brother-in-law, Jerry Stephens (Jackie) and Tony Stephens; grandchildren, Nici Creel Babineaux (Mitchell), and Emileigh Jane Creel; great grandchildren, Chloee, Layna and Mason Babineaux; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard Scott Creel and Anna Mae Primeaux Creel; brother, Robert Martin Creel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 2pm, Thursday, June 13, 2013 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Visitation will be Wednesday 4pm-9pm with a rosary at 6pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles and resume Thursday at 8am until service time. Pallbearers will be Mitchell Babineaux, Greg Byrley, Leland East, Val East, Carroll Mire and Reggie Saxon. Honorary Pallbearers will be Willie Ancelet, Corbutt Fournerat, Nolan Griffin, Charles Kennedy, Huey Manuel and Earl Norwood. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery.
