MOSS BLUFF – Rida Mae Saltzman Day, 74, died on September 5, 2011 in a local hospital. She was born in Gueydan and lived in Big Lake, Westlake and Moss Bluff. She was a graduate of Grand Lake High School and attended Sowela. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Rene and Emily Saltzman. She was the organist at Big Lake Tabernacle for many years. Rida is survived by her husband of 50 years, Samuel E. Day. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Rev. Yarbrough will officiate. Burial will be in Westlake Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and will resume Saturday morning at 8 a.m.
