Rita Calleja Lacy

Funeral services for Rita C. Lacy, 71, a resident of Iowa, Louisiana will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 9th, 2016 at Hixson Funeral Home, 3001 Ryan Street, Lake Charles, LA. The family will greet friends from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Mrs. Lacy passed away of natural causes Thursday, April 7th, 2016 at her residence. Rita was born July 16th, 1944 in Libon, Philippines the daughter of Mariano Calleja and Faustina Balmeo. She was united in marriage to Edwin Lacy on November 26th, 1968 in Las Pinas, Philippines. They were married for 48 blissful years. Rita became a citizen of the United States on August 1st, 1979 in Baton Rouge, LA.

Rita attended college in Manila, Philippines before marriage. She was a loving mother and wife for 48 years. She loved arts and crafts, dancing, music, and fashion. Rita was a very compassionate woman who knew no strangers. Mrs. Lacy had strong religious beliefs and never ended a day without prayer.

She is survived by her husband; Edwin Lacy, Iowa, LA, Daughter, Yvonne Renee Lacy(Hollie), Iowa, LA, Son, Edwin Phillip Lacy, Lake Charles, LA; a daughter-in-law Terry Lynn Lacy, Lake Charles, LA; 7 loving grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Lena and Myrna Calleja, both of Naga City, Philippines.
