Robert Edward Sigler

Robert (“Bobby”) Edward Sigler passed from his earthly life on Friday, May 8, 2026, at the age of 74. He was born on Friday, October 19, 1951, in Elizabeth, Louisiana, to Carlyss Clell Sigler, Sr. and Joyce Carlisle Sigler. Robert lived for most of his life in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Bobby played high school basketball at Welsh High School in Welsh, Louisiana for the Greyhounds, where his team made it to the state playoffs twice, during his junior and senior years.

After graduating from high school, Bobby proudly served his country for four years in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed at the former McChord Air Force Base in Washington State, and he was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant.

Bobby was a man of many talents, working as a hairdresser for the J.C. Penney Salon before becoming a middle school Special Education Teacher for years, where he served at several schools in Calcasieu Parish. He also volunteered in literacy so he could teach people how to read.

Bobby was a wonderful gardener who also had a love of garage sales, where he could be found early on Saturday mornings finding cute toys for his beloved dogs. He had a great sense of humor, loved movies, and loved to make people laugh.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Carlys C. "Butch" Sigler, Jr.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Carol Ann Sigler; his beloved fur baby, Bentley; his niece, Carla S. Sigler and her husband, Brent Collins, of Sulphur; brother-in-law, Ronnie Bertrand and his wife, Christine; nephew, Mitch Bertrand and his wife, Mandy; sister-in-law, Tammie Richard; nephew, Justin Richard and his wife, Kolbie, of Lake Charles; nephew, Shane Richard and his wife, Erica, of Houston, TX; his sister-in-law, Debra Abel Sigler of Little Rock, AR, formerly of Sulphur; and numerous great-nephews and many friends.

Visitation will begin at noon until time of the Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026, in the Chapel of Lilies at J. E. Hixson Funeral Home.
