Rod was a wonderful friend and supervisor.  I first met him when I was detailed to Kingsville in the early 80s.  Never realizing he would be an Assistant Chief in Del Rio and I a first line supervisor in Sonora.

I went to New Orleans as Asst. Chief and Rod came later as Deputy Chief until he retired after Jo's accident.

Retha and I would stop and see he and Jean from time to time and enjoy telling lies and eating his delicious Cajun cooking.  He even got my wife hooked on crackling.

Jean we will miss him and pray God will comfort you and his family.

Great friend and family, a true Cajun. Tipped over in the bayou while in his pirou...no allegators thank goodness.!
He took care of Jo Lyn to the end. His many friends and colleagues will miss him and his famous fish fries and hush puppies.

Jean, this is Kim Myers - Bitter and Bettye Brooks’s daughter. I am so very sorry to hear of Rod’s passing. Please accept my sincere condolences.

You and Rod were always  so kind to my parents.  Y’all always stayed in touch with them which meant the world to them. Now they are all reunited in Heaven. They loved you and Rod so much.
