Ronald W. Berglund

Mr. Berglund was born in Houston, TX and lived most of his life in Lake Charles. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of Vietnam and was a member of the Disabled Veterans. He was Santa Claus for Big Brother Big Sisters and Pearl Watson School. Mr. Berglund worked for Otis Engineering for 17 years and coached Mid City Little League Baseball. He was also the owner and operator of R&E Services for 25 years.

He is survived by his wife of 42 ½ years, Edna Pearce Berglund of Lake Charles; mother, Myrtle Berglund of Lake Charles; sons, Michael Paul Berglund of Houston and Steven Craig Berglund of Lake Charles; sister, Charlene O’Malley and husband Albert of Lake Charles; and granddaughters, Olivia, Victoria, and Elizabeth. He is predeceased by his father, Nels Berglund.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, November 14, 2011 at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles and will continue from 10 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday. Rosary will be prayed 6 p.m. Monday. His funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at St. Margarets Catholic Church. Rev. Brian King will officiate. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery.
