

Ronnie was born in Jennings, Louisiana on June 22, 1950 to Dolsia and Russie Delcambre. He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, Lacey Delcambre Stephenson and husband, Buck Stephenson of Big Lake, Louisiana and son, Cody Delcambre and fiancée, Rosa Martinez of Rosarito, Mexico and one grandson, Chandler Delcambre of Big Lake, Louisiana. He also leaves five sisters, Donna Prather of Jennings, Louisiana, Claudette Dickman of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Diane Delcambre and Loretta Delcambre of Sulphur, Louisiana, Vickie Delcambre of Montgomery, Louisiana and two brothers, Whalen Delcambre of Sulphur, Louisiana and Johnny Delcambre of Rosepine, Louisiana.
Ronnie was a graduate of South Cameron High School Class of 1968. He attended McNeese State University, was a shrimper, diver, an employee of Mobil Oil and remained in the oil industry and other various entrepreneurial endeavors until his death. For retirement Ronnie moved to Acapulco, Mexico where he has resided for 17 years.
Ronnie will always be known his larger than life personality and absolute “joie de vivre”. He lived every day like it might be his last. He will also be remembered for his story telling, writings and wonderful sense of humor. All who knew him will miss him. He was definitely one a kind.
A Celebration Service will be held at Hixson Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with a small Memorial Service to follow at 6:30.
