Ronald "Ron" James Miller Sr.

Ron was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles where he graduated from Lagrange High School in 1965. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, spending time with his family, outdoor BBQ cookouts and camping. Ron's all time joy was playing cajun music where he also belonged to the local CFMA.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, Brenda F. Miller; children, Ronald J. Miller, Jr., Sherry Bazinet (Chad), Rechelle Fontenot, Tracie Phillips (Jeff), Damon Miller; grandchildren, Samantha Miller, Christopher Miller, Chelsea Canady, Shelby Landry, David Lohr, Harold Canady, Dalton Fontenot, Zachary Lohr, Tristan Fontenot, and Abigail Miller; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Loretta McNair; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred P. Miller and Dorothy Walker Miller; and siblings, Darlene Waites, Arthur "CoCo" Miller, Marian Delaune, Larry W. Miller.

The family will welcome relatives and friends at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday, October 8, 2026 in the funeral home beginning at 9:00 a.m. with a Celebration of Life to begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Pastor Greg Simien will be officiating at the services.
