Ruby Lee Lewis

She was born July 4, 1926 in Glenmora, La to George and Blanche (Alston) Peterson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ernest David Lewis and one daughter Terry Wells.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her four children, Ernest “Dusty” David Lewis II of Moss Bluff; Barbara Darwish and her husband Moody of Sulphur; LA; Jackie Welsh and her husband Keith of Sulphur and Sheree Lewis also of Sulphur, seven grandchildren, Abby Lewis of Moss Bluff; Derek and Shallon Kinard of Atoka, OK; Justin Kinard of Lafayette, Garret and Chad Reeves of DeRidder, Laura and Gene Cates of DeRidder and Heather and Jason Griffin of Pullman, WA, Abby Lewis of Moss Bluff; seven great-grandchildren, Ella, Brody, Kellan, Jason, Riley Kate, Megan and Nicholas.

Ruby was a member of the Second Ave Senior Citizen Center in Lake Charles and AARP.

Visitation will be on Monday, August 22, 2016 from 1:00pm to 8:00pm and resume at 9:00am on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 until time of service at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 10:00am at the funeral homes. The Rev. Dr. John Robert Black will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Alexandria Memorial Park in Alexandria, LA.
