Russell Grant Broussard

Russell Grant Broussard, age 61, of Lake Charles, Louisiana passed away in his home on Saturday, March 23, 2024. Russell was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on November 26, 1962 to Gordon Raymond Broussard and Nola Jane Bourgeois Broussard.

Russell was a graduate of Lake Charles High School in 1981. He was a welder by trade. He later worked for Stines Lumber Yard for many years. His was most recently employed as a Groundskeeper for the City of Lake Charles. Russell was a master barbecuer, an avid gar fisherman, a collector of knives and guns and he loved country music.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Wayne Broussard, and a sister, Tina Broussard Fuselier.

Those left to cherish his memory are his four children, Russell G. "Rusty" Broussard Jr. and his wife, Kristel, Reece Broussard and his wife, Andrea, Jacey Kristen Broussard, and Janie Carol Broussard; grandchildren, Lyric, Lewis, Logan, Renesmee, and Bentley; brother, John Carl Broussard and wife, Julie; sister, Deanna Johnson and husband, Ron; brother, Richard Broussard and wife, Deirdre; sister, Lynette Sonnier and husband, Brian; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2023 with a remembrance service beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Lilies at J.E. Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Russell will be laid to rest at a later date in Graceland Cemetery in Lake Charles.
