Ruth Elizabeth Chaumont

She was born in Sumter, SC but lived in Moss Bluff since 1972. She lived in Germany for 3 years, France for 4 years as part of her 20 years of being an Air Force wife. She worked for the CPSB as a school bus driver and as a registrar of voters in Moss Bluff. She had a strong Christian faith.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Warren Chaumont; sons, Andre Chaumont (Sharon) of Ragley; Maurice Chaumont (E. Grey Talley) of Pollock, LA; daughter, Collette George (Ronnie) of Moss Bluff; brothers, Tom Hodge (Mary) of Charleston, SC; Howard Hodge (Jodi) of Greatfalls, SC; sister, Margaret Henderson of Sumter, SC; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Horace Hodge and Ruth Carroll Hodge; daughter, Sharon (Lynn) Weeks; and sisters, Donnie Hodges and Gwen Hammel.

Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 5 – 8 pm and will resume on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 12:00 pm. Funeral Service will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 2 pm. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Garden in Lake Charles.
