

Ruth Brewer Hernandez, 80, devoted wife and loving mother, faithful servant of Our Lord Jesus Christ, went to be with her Savior on Tuesday July 20, 2010 in Tomball Regional Hospital in Tomball, Texas.
She had been a previous active member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Lake Charles LA. She served as a church greeter as well as other ministries. While living in Newburgh, Indiana, she served as ambassador for resident relations as well as team captain for the Wii Community bowling league. She was actively involved with Red Hat ladies and monthly Dining Divas. She was very musically gifted. She could make a piano sing all by ear. She had one passion and that was her family.
Survivors include daughters, Jacqueline Rew and husband Charles of Spring, TX, Darlene Stanley and husband Clifton of Houston, TX, Pamela Richard of The Woodlands, TX, and Millissa Flanagan and husband David of Newburgh, IN; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; brother, Willie Brewer and sister, Violet Brewer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dalton Joseph Hernandez; parents, John and Lena Brewer, brother, John Brewer Jr., and sisters, Dorothy Adams, Eloise Barbee, and Wanda Brewer.
Her funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday July 23, 2010 at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles LA. Rev. Gary Eavers will officiate. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Gardens in Lake Charles.
