Sanders Joseph Miller

He was born in Grand Chenier and lived most of his life in Grand Chenier and Creole. He was a member of St. Eugene Catholic Church and Christ the King Catholic Church. He was a carpenter for Crain Bros. until he retired and continued as a self employed carpenter. He loved hunting, fishing, reading, gardening and dancing. He was a hard worker who loved his family.

He is survived by his daughters, Donna Cameron of Alexandria; Jerrie Miller Royer of Moss Bluff; Linda Chaney of Dry Creek; Karen Hall of New Iberia and Sandra Farquhar of DeRidder; brother, Dominic Miller, Jr of Lake Charles; sister, Glenda Stewart of Lake Charles; grandchildren, John Vaughn, Tammy Vanasselberg, Onita Vanasselberg, Ginger Johnson, Christopher Hebert, Amy Sharp, Altus Gaspard ll, Tonya Mahaffey, Tray West, Alicia Pendley, Cherrie Goodwin, McKinley Savoie, Justin Savoie, H. Shane Savoie ll, Aaron Savoie and Kaylyn Farqhuar; 32 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dominic and Mae Dyson Miller; wife Onita Miller; sister Loretta Dowd and longtime companion Marie Conner.

Visitation will be Monday, June 18, 2018 from 3pm until 9pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles, with a rosary at 6pm and resume Tuesday at 8am until time of service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 11am at St. Eugene Catholic Church in Grand Chenier. Burial will follow at St. Eugene Cemetery.
