Shannon was a proud graduate of LaGrange High School, Class of 1986. He dedicated many years to his career as a truck driver in Lake Charles.
Shannon had a special love for animals, especially his two beloved dogs. He enjoyed traveling and making memories with his loved ones, whether vacationing in the mountains, visiting Galveston, taking cruises, or spending time at the camp in Oberlin during his younger years.
A true outdoorsman, Shannon especially enjoyed fishing. He was also a fantastic cook and took great pride in making his own smoked sausage. He had a natural talent for working with his hands and was very mechanical, particularly when it came to lawn mowers.
Above all, Shannon cherished his family. His greatest joy was spending time with those he loved, especially his grandchildren, who held a very special place in his heart. The memories he created with his family will be treasured and remembered for years to come. He will be remembered by his two nicknames: "SIN" and "Basin". Shannon gave everyone he knew a nickname, especially his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 29 years, Shaunice Francois Duplechain; father, Jerry Duplechain; children, Cody Johnson (Amanda Ruhoff), Zachary Lemoine (Jordan Weaver), Katlyn Lemoine, Camie Duplechain (Stacy Rodrigue), Charis "Nunoon" Duplechain Rhodes (Brandon Rhodes), and Lauren Duplechain (Kevin Contreras); grandchildren, Gracelynn Lemoine, Kasan Coleman, Colby Lemoine, Tegan Moore, Kennedy Johnson, and Amelia Johnson; sibling, Dennis Duplechain (Kala Duplechain); godchild, Victoria Carrier (Kenny Smith) and a host of family, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Wanda "Blue" Carrier Duplechain; maternal and paternal grandparents.
