Stephen was a lifelong Paramedic of 32+ years who served through: Holston Ambulance Service, LifeCare Ambulance, Acadian Ambulance Service, Med Express Ambulance Service, Cal-Cam Ambulance Service, CPAD 2, Lake Charles Memorial ER, and currently worked Christus St Patrick’s Lake Area ER.
Helping others was his passion. He always kept the patients first and treated them with dignity and respect. In return, he was well respected and liked by his peers and patients alike.
Stephen also had a deep passion for anything medical. He loved teaching it to others in a way that anyone could understand and learn. He was an amazing teacher! He had a vast love and extensive knowledge of anything music. There was no genre that he did not know and enjoy. He enjoyed football - especially his son’s many years of playing, and McNeese football. While watching his son play and listening to his wife’s own cheers, he discovered the pleasure of watching and cheering for the game of volleyball and powerlifting as well. There was no tournament too far that he would not drive to in order to cheer on his son. Stephen had many people that he called family by choice. To them, he gave them help, he gave them time, he gave them his nails to paint because he loved them - especially those sweet little girls.
He leaves behind his wife Kelley Tritico Kershaw and his son Stephen Russell Kershaw whom he loved and adored, as well as his extended family of choice whom he loved, and his princess Bella.
