Thomas Aiden “Tommy” Miller left this life to re-unite with his beloved wife Mary in Heaven, Thursday, April 21, 2022. Tommy was born December 23, 1943, in Lake Charles, La. His parents were Joseph Aiden Miller, (born in Eunice, LA, native of Port Arthur, Tx) and Louise Ann Miguez Miller (born in New Iberia, LA, native of Lake Charles, LA).
Tommy and Mary met at Marion High School and were married their senior year, 1962. In the next two years, they had 2 sons, Tommy and Terry. After graduation he worked at Hebert Lumber Co. and Dowell Industries in Lake Charles for several years. He then moved on to PPG in Westlake where he completed his Apprenticeship as a Machinist and continued his worked there until his retirement in 2006, as the Silica Plant Maintenance Supervisor.
Early in life Tommy enjoyed raising animals, horses, horseback riding, hunting, and drag racing. As an avid hunter he not only cared about protecting animals, he also cared about the right to bear arms and hunt freely.
Tommy and Mary were life-long members of Westlake Assembly of God Church in Westlake and regular attendees, often volunteering to help with various activities for the church. Throughout his career, he was a devoted husband and father.
After retirement, he became an antique car and hot rod enthusiast. He owned, restored, and showed several cars over the years including a 1933 Ford Coupe, 1963 Ford Galaxy 500 XL, and a 2002 Corvette.
Tommy will be sorely missed by his family and friends in the Car Club and his hunting and Domino playing buddies.
Tommy survivors include his sister Lou Ann Miller Burns (Floyd “Chip”, deceased); his sons Thomas Marlin Miller (Toni) and Terry Lynn Miller (Christy), 4 grandchildren: Melanie Smith (Eric), Brandon Miller (Taylor), Christopher Miller (Lexie) and Abbie Myers (Ben); plus 6 great-grandchildren: Kendal Miller, Carson Steech, Hallee Miller, Rajesh Vaswani, Liam Miller, and Quinn Myers. Also 2 sister-in-laws; Dorothy “Dot” Mouton and Carolyn Benoit (Lynn) along with many nieces, nephews and cousins families who will greatly miss him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary Downs Miller and brother-in-law Chip Burns. Also by brother-in-laws on his wife’s side: E. J. Mouton; Michael Lynn, Bobby Glen and Marlin Wayne Downs.
The family will receive friends April 26, 2022, Tuesday at 9:00 AM followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM. Rev. Jerry Chilson will officiate with interment to follow at Consolata Cemetery. Cremation was entrusted to Hixson Funeral Home, Lake Charles.
