

Timothy Owen Coffey, 63, passed away at home on July 11 in Lake Charles, LA surrounded by his family and friends. He continued living each day to its fullest, while fighting a courageous and inspirational battle against pancreatic cancer.
He is survived by his wife Nancy (Coleman) of 13 years, and his 4 children: Blair (Rick), Christopher, Lindsay (Jeff), David (Coleman) and granddaughter, Annabelle.
Tim Coffey was the Sr. VP of Operations at Lake Charles Memorial Health System since 2006.
Tim was an undergraduate of the University of Kentucky, and a Master of Science from the University of Louisville. He had over 30 years experience in healthcare including facility operations, physician recruitment, strategic planning, and business development. Additionally, he was a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).
Born in St. Paul, MN, Tim grew up in Louisville, KY. He attended St. Raphael and St. Xavier HS where he was a star football athlete.
Having lived in and loved Louisiana, Tim embraced the LA culture and lifestyle. He was a lieutenant in the Krewe of Endymion, having ridden consecutively for 18 years. Other hobbies included fishing, hunting, golf, and gardening but his passion was his family.
Prior to joining Memorial in 2006, he served as the Interim CEO at Doctor's Hospital in Opelousas, LA and the COO at Chalmette Medical Center in Chalmette, LA.
Additional survivors include his mother (Helen) and siblings: Linda (Ronny), Terrence (Lisa), Thomas, Theodore (Deborah), Todd (Paula), Cathy, Mary (Jim) and Margaret (Steve) and 12 nieces and nephews. Tim is pre-deceased by his father Frank F. Coffey.
The family would like to acknowledge the amazing love and support of the Lake Charles Memorial Health System community, also to Heart of Hospice staff, especially Teresa.
Visitation will be held at J.E. Hixson & Sons Funeral Home 3001 Ryan St., Lake Charles, LA on Wed., July 13, 2016 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m.
A funeral mass to celebrate his life will be held at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church, 3939 Lake St. Lake Charles, LA on Thur., July 14, 2016 at 9 a.m.
A graveside service will be held at Lake Lawn Park Cemetery, New Orleans LA on Thursday, July 14 at 3 p.m. followed by a celebration of his life. Location will be given at the gravesite. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
