Vickie Lea Kocemba

She was born in Deridder and lived most of her life in Lake Charles. Vickie was a graduate of Lake Charles High School class of 1970 and attended McNeese State University. She worked for Dr. Patrick Crawford for 10 years. She was a member of St. Margaret’s Catholic Church. Vickie loved traveling, gardening and spending time at the beach. She will be remembered as a loving wife, daughter, mother and grandmother who always found the silver lining in everything.

She is survived by her husband, Fredric Kocemba of Lake Charles; mother, Velva Allison of Lake Charles; sons, Jason R. Carlquist and his wife Carla of Moss Bluff and Colton K. Kocemba and Charity Nolen of Lake Charles; brother, Bobby Brian Bailey and wife Renee` of Lake Charles; 4 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Bethard E. Bailey Jr.

Her funeral will be on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Bluff Cemetery in Port Neches, Texas. Visitation will be held Monday, August 6, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to the time of service.
