Lovingly known as ‘Nanna’, she had a deep love for gardening vibrantly colored f lowers that mirrored her own spirit. She also worked as for many years as a caregiver, seamstress, and baker—showing her love and devotion to helping those around her. Her hands creating beauty, comfort, and care—through love, fabric, and food.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Rosella Johnson, siblings Felicia Gray, Greta Gray, and Earnest Bell. Virginia is survived by her dear sisters, Norrice Gray and Natasha Gray.
Virginia was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, Rossalinde Harris, Robert Gray, Rontetta (Sanchez) Crosby, and Erica Robinson. She also leaves her legacy of twenty-three grandchildren and forty great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, who were the joy of her life.
Her life was a beautiful reflection of compassion, strength, and grace. As she rests, she will be deeply missed and remembered for by all who were blessed to know her.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at First Community Baptist Church 2320 Elaine St. Lake Charles on Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM.
