

He was born May 14, 1932, in Corsicana, Texas and grew up in Louisiana. After graduating from Westlake High School, he attended McNeese State College where he was a member of Delta Theta Chi fraternity. He graduated from ROTC to receive his commission in the U. S. Army, artillery branch, during the Korean War, retiring from active duty into the reserves at the rank of Captain.
He worked several years for Harrison Paint Co. before becoming general manager of the second largest cash and carry home center in Louisiana at that time. He was owner/manager of South City Paint Co. Following his retirement, he became a regional sales manager for Enviro-Chem. He served several years as Scoutmaster of Troop 6, and was a past member of the Rotary Club and Young Men’s Business Club. He was a founding member of Bethel Presbyterian PCA Church in Lake Charles and a former deacon. He enjoyed a number of hobbies including golf, motorcycle riding (both street and dirt), hunting and camping trips with friends on the Sabine River. After his second retirement, his major involvement was competition shooting as a member of the Single Action Shooters Society (SASS), travelling frequently to regional competitions, winning titles in his age category in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara (B.B); one son, Bill Roberts and wife Ann of Ville Platte, LA; one daughter, Christy Moreau and husband Mark of Lake Charles and two grandchildren, Burnham and Margaret Roberts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Viola Roberts. The family would like to thank all of the friends and extended family for their support and prayers during this time. Also, thanks to Brighton Bridge Hospice and around-the-clock sitters, Peggy Southern, Alice Southern, and Ashley Simien for their compassionate and loving care.
