Billy was a kind soul. When I was an LSU AgCenter / Sea Grant Fisheries Extension Agent in Cameron Parish from 1978-92, Billy always met me with a friendly smile and a love for the Calcasieu Lake oyster fishery. He was a key oyster industry leader that helped the industry remain viable and profitable through his tireless efforts supporting positive oyster management policies in Calcasieu Lake. He always greeted everyone as a friend and was one of the hardest working seafood processors in the parish. May he Rest in Peace with our Lord forever in Heaven. Prayers are being offered for Billy and the entire family during this time of great loss and sadness. God bless Billy Doxey.
