William D. Terry

William D. “Bill” Terry, 86, passed away peacefully in his home on December 28, 2012. He was a native of Texas, but had resided in Lake Charles since 1969. He was an Army veteran of WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post #1. He was a graduate of the University of Houston, having earned a degree in business.

Mr. Terry was president of Tyler-Roberts Realty Co. and Lake Fairway Estates. He was also a charter member of the Calcasieu Preservation Society. He was an avid fan of McNeese football and provided for an annual band scholarship to McNeese

Bill was preceded in death by his parents Charles Sr. and Pearl Seigler Terry. Survivors include two sisters, Marjorie Kilgore of San Antonio, TX and Mary Jo Brown of Joshua, TX; a brother, Charles Terry Jr. of Houston, TX; 10 nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He also left behind many friends, all of whom loved Bill for his great wit, spirit and generosity.

A very special thanks to Rainy, Leonard, Ruby and Amy for their devotion to Bill’s needs and to his comfort during his last weeks.

A memorial service will be held at Hixson Funeral Home on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 1:30 p.m.
